Park Jefferson International Speedway
August 7-8 sees Iron Cup riches at Park Jefferson Speedway
The week of the Iron Cup has arrived at Park Jefferson Speedway as drivers from around Sioux City will come to battle for the right to call themselves Iron Cup Champions.
The 2 day show will see the IMCA Modifieds race in the popular format of the World Nationals and Clash at the Creek.
Friday night, drivers will run two heat races, one lined up based on draw and the second heat a complete invert. The top 10 drivers in points will be locked into the Saturday night A Feature. All other drivers will advance to Saturday night heat races to fill out the A feature and B feature fields. Saturday nights 25 lap championship will pay $7,000 to the winner.
Also Friday, a special mystery Race of States will be held with 1 driver from each state represented racing in a special dash for cash. Driver registration can be found for IMCA Modifieds at https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2303/registrations
The IMCA Stock Cars, Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks will compete each night in stand alone IMCA programs featuring a draw/redraw format with heats and features. The Iron Cup champion will be crowned on Saturday night.
The IMCA Sport Compacts will join on Friday night for a complete program and on Saturday the IMCA RACESaver Sprints will join for a complete program.
There is no entry fee for IMCA Stock Cars, SportMods, Hobby Stocks, Sport Compacts and Sprint Cars.
In addition to the Iron Cup, Friday night we will award our Track Champions from the 2019 race season. As the banquet was cancelled due to Corona Virus, this is a chance to recognize the top 3 in each division with trophies and plaques recognizing their championships from 2019. Drivers do not need to be racing in the Iron Cup to be recognized.
Gates open both days at 4pm for competitors, 5pm for spectators. Hot laps will be at 6:30 both days and racing will be slated to kick off at 7:30.
