Road to the Iron Cup for Hobby Stocks headlines Park Jefferson

Park Jefferson Speedway rolls back into action this week with racing presented by Zip Energy Drink. The Omaha based all natural energy drink will present a full night of IMCA Weekly Racing which will be headlined by the Road to the Iron Cup for the Z98 Hobby Stocks. Drives will be racing for an increased purse with an additional $100 to the winner, $50 to a driver drawn from 2-5 positions and another $50 for a driver from positions 6-24. Every driver racing in the Z98 Hobby Stocks will receive a special $25 off voucher for their 2018 J&J Fitting Iron Cup Registration. This event will be their draw/redraw event as is every Road to the Iron Cup. Cory Probst is the top gun in the Hobby Stocks with Kent Hustand, Craig Clift, Aaron Shearn and Andy Hoffman rounding out the top five in points.
Jay Noteboom will look to go 4 in a row at Park Jefferson and possibly tie Joe Kosiski on the all time leaders chart. In his way are past track champion Bob Moore, Chris Abelson and former Sport Modified Champion Todd Boulware.
In the IMCA Sprint Cars, the point chase is very much up in the air as Elliot Amdahl has crept into the lead after Dusty Ballenger’s misfortune this past Saturday Night. Nicknamed “The Combine” Ballenger had a rough rollover that did a lot of damage to the beautiful black and blue 2d. Amdahl and Colin Smith benefitted from the misfortune, and improving drivers Mike Stegenga and JD Hommes continue to improve.
The J&J Fitting Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Modifieds and IMCA Sport Compacts will also be on hand this weekend. Adult tickets are $12, Seniors 70+ are $5 and Children 6-16 are just $2. Children under 6 are free. Pit passes are $30 and clubhouse wristbands can be purchased for $12 at the souvenir stand. For more information go to www.parkjeff.com.
