Dover Powers to Second Straight Victory During Nebraska 360 Sprints and MSTS Show at Park Jefferson

Inside Line Promotions – JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 29, 2018) – Jack Dover enjoyed a dominating performance on Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway.

Dover advanced from fourth to second place during a heat race, which earned enough points to make the feature redraw for the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series main event.

“We’re still struggling with the fuel system on this thing,” he said. “We fought that in the heat race and we made a change in the right direction for the feature.”

Dover took advantage of the improvement as well as his front row starting position. He ran second for the first handful of laps before taking the lead around Lap 6.

“We rode around there for a few laps running the top in turns three and four,” he said. “That’s where we got Gregg Bakker and never looked back. He was running the bottom in both corners. I just kept watching him and it seemed like in turns three and four he was sliding up and spinning his tires. When I was up top I could keep my momentum up.”

Dover pulled away and won the race by more than five seconds to garner his second straight triumph.

“It’s all a mind game with racing,” he said. “If you’re not winning you start doubting yourself and wondering what’s wrong. You just need to get that first win out of the way.

“I think our confidence is there and we’ve learned some stuff with the car the last couple of weeks that has made a difference how it reacts. I’m not going to say we’ve got it completely figured out, but we’re close to being a contender for the win every time out.”

Last Friday’s program at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., rained out.

Dover is scheduled to compete this Friday at Jackson Motorplex during a $3,000-to-win show before making his season debut at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday.
