Park Jefferson ends June on a high and dry note!

After a little scare from an oncoming storm, it was a beautiful Saturday night at Park Jefferson saw night number four of IMCA weekly racing as well as the North vs. South Shootout featuring the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars vs. the MSTS. A strong field of 86 cars was on hand to contest the four-tenth mile black oval. In the Sign Masters Modified race the top three finishers were Bobby Moore in first, RJ Merchant in second, and Ricky Stephan in third. Chris Ableson was in clear command of the program but a busted shock forced him pitside and allowed Moore to cruise to victory. In J&J Fitting Stock Cars, the top three were Elijah Zevenbergen in first, Chris Mills in second, and Chad Overgaard in third. In Sport Modified, after problems with his car, reigning champion Todd Boulware finished 5th in the race. For the first time in 2016, a new winner was in victory lane as Kole Nordquist was first, Karl Brewer in second, and Keegan Nordquist in third. In the Fox 620 Hobby Stocks, after multiple lead changes, Andy Hoffman took first, Aaron Shearn finished second, and Rusty Montagne finished third. In Sport Compacts had Luke Jackson in first, Alec Stapleton in second, and Tyler Thompson in third. The sprint cars saw Jack Dover of Eagle, Nebraska defeat all comers as he swept to victory. Carson McCarl of Altoona and Don Droud Jr. of Lincoln rounded out the podium. Park Jefferson will set idle this weekend for Sioux Cities Saturday’s in the Park and return with IMCA Weekly racing on Saturday July 9th, sponsored by Schaeffer Oil.
